TastyUrban create innovative (and delicious) food brands for local restaurants – all built on a virtual restaurant franchise model.
With a focus on delivery-first recipes and operational reliability, TastyUrban helps restaurants expand into new cuisines – from fried chicken to dumplings – with streamlined support, ingredients, packaging, and training. And they came to us for a new website and restaurant portal.
We worked closely with the TastyUrban team to build both their public-facing website and their restaurant portal – a branded training hub designed for franchise partners. This included plenty of time spent surrounded by their seriously good-looking food – a real test of focus during those hungry hours!
To power the site and portal, we chose Statamic as the content management system – a best-in-class CMS with an author-first content editing experience and built-in multi-site support: this allowed us to support both English and German content out of the box. As Statamic runs on Laravel, we were able to harness Laravel’s power and flexibility to deliver a highly customisable site – with advanced features like responsive image handling, intelligent caching, and role-based access control for both the website and the portal.
Within the restaurant portal, each user is assigned to the brands their venue offers – instantly unlocking access to a tailored and searchable knowledge base. This includes detailed pages on each brand’s full menu, complete recipes and combos, ingredients, packaging, food safety info, and brand-specific training – all presented with high-quality visuals and styled to match each brand’s visual identity.
Before development began, we worked closely with the TastyUrban team to map out their full recipe playbook. From there, we designed a content architecture that supports reusable components and scalable updates – particularly around shared ingredients, portion sizes and cooking instructions. The result is a system where a change to a single item can automatically update every recipe or combo that uses it – reducing admin overhead and improving accuracy across the board.
Our goal was to build a site that’s both technically sophisticated and easy to manage – with full support for multiple languages, dynamic page creation, and seamless content updates.
With Laravel and Statamic at the core, we took full advantage of their toolsets – optimising performance with caching of large and resource-intensive pages, offloading heavy processes to background jobs, and using Laravel to pre-process complex data before sending it to the templating engine. It’s never just about building a website – it’s about unlocking the full potential of your CMS to deliver a scalable, efficient, and dynamic experience.
It’s been a pleasure to watch TastyUrban’s brand portfolio grow – and to see the portal evolve right alongside it, continuing to provide a streamlined, custom experience for each restaurant partner. We’re excited to keep working with TastyUrban as they expand and evolve their platform.
